3 Things I Wish I Knew About Teaching 10 Years Ago

A lot of yoga teachers ask me, “How do I create community? How do I scale?” The answer is you scale by taking every single student who walks in and doing your best to keep them as lifelong practitioners of yoga.

As you know, my 30-hour online Teaching Yoga To Beginners Course starts on November 7th, 2023. This is a course built specifically for yoga teachers. I have taken a decade of my learning and have condensed and packed it into this 30-hour online course.

While I call it teaching yoga to beginners course, I believe teaching a beginner student is extremely important because there are a lot of yoga teacher training programs that do not get this covered because most of them focus on teaching a student who already has some basic yoga knowledge.

So in today’s episode, I’m going to share with you three things that I wish I knew when I was teaching beginners that took me a decade to figure out. They are things that I have stuck to time and time again and have definitely been game-changers. Take note that none of them are about poses. In fact, they’re what I commonly refer to as invisible yoga when it comes to teaching yoga.

I hope you enjoy this episode and I hope to see you on November 7th in the Teaching Yoga to Beginners Course.

Teaching Yoga Episode Highlights:

  • Focus on how they will learn instead of how you will teach
  • Teach the practice more, not just the pose
  • Stop queuing, start communicating
