In today’s episode, I speak with Cora Geroux of The Teaching Yoga Podcast. Cora has been a yoga teacher since 2009. We became instant friends when we were introduced by Jesal from the Yoga is Dead Podcast. We share many interests and she has been supporting me for months now since I told her about my podcast. She is amazing with social media and the business side of teaching yoga.

Cora tells the tale of her journey from being a Psychology student from the university to teaching yoga. How she managed a yoga studio for a large yoga-chain company, & transitioned to becoming a full-time yoga teacher for the same company. After a couple of years, she moved to Sydney to teach in smaller independent studios. Teaching in small studios led her to learning about the business side of yoga.
It was around 2014 or 2015 when she started running yoga teacher training. She started handling social media, website development, marketing, and graphic design. This was when she found out that she loved doing all this stuff. She left the studios by the end of 2019 to focus more on the digital and online aspects. She launched her online business and started a mentoring membership for yoga teachers called The Teachers Club in March 2020 a few months after launching her podcast. Talk about perfect timing during the pandemic!

Cora Geroux is a yoga teacher, host of the podcast “Teaching Yoga” and founder of The Teachers Club – an online membership that supports yoga teachers to build independent businesses. Cora has been teaching yoga full time since 2009, and from 2014-2019 created and led multiple yoga teacher trainings. Before which, she obtained a BA in psychology from Simon Fraser University. Cora was also the co-owner of two small yoga studios for 3 years, before she pivoted to running a 100% online business, while supporting other yoga teachers to learn how to run a successful business themselves.
Cora grew up in Canada and is of French Canadian and British descent. Outside of yoga & business, Cora loves the internet, design, hiking, and astrology. She now lives in Sydney, Australia.
