On the show today, I invited back our frequent guest, Prasad Rangnekar. What prompted me to ask him to come back on the show was to talk about the new online course that he is launching on July 14th, 2022 — literally a week away as this episode drops — called Prana & Pranayama. I thought it was just perfect timing to discuss this topic with him.
It’s a five-week in-depth course exploring wider dimensions of Prana & Pranayama, beyond breath and breathwork, by reconciling scriptures & science. I myself am also joining this course because I’m a believer in the depth of knowledge, wisdom, and simplicity with which he communicates. It’s absolutely something that is much needed in today’s yoga world.
Think of this episode essentially as a preview of his new course. We go about answering questions like what is prana according to the scriptures and the spiritual significance of pranayama and how it can be applied. In Prasad’s online course, he’s also going to be helping all the practitioners build what is called a sadhana practice.

Prasad Rangnekar, E-RYT500, is a Yoga Educator from India who teaches in over 15 countries for the past 26 years. Prasad’s Yoga education started at the age of 9, and over the last 36 years, he has been studying Yoga traditionally, in a lineage, as well as academically, at a university. Prasad regards meditative silence as his greatest teacher and goes into 3 month-long silence retreats every year.
Prasad is associated with the Natha Lineage, the founding lineage of Hatha Yoga, over the last 16 years and has stayed and studied with Natha Yoga Masters in India and Nepal.
